The Packaging and Formulations Engineer is an integral part of our Supply Chain team based out of our US - Teaneck, NJ site.
Position Details
This position would be supporting the production of medicated products manufactured globally at both Phibro’s and contract manufacturing facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining packaging specifications and other packaging documentation ensuring compliance with both FDA and cGMP requirements.
- Working with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain the packaging artworks and coordinate its application to the required packaging in an FDA regulated environment to meet branding, text and logistical requirements.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to evaluate packaging design performance and create alternate packaging specifications as required for powder, granular and liquid products.
- Support selection and qualification of new packaging materials, suppliers, and formats.
- Participate in change control for packaging materials, suppliers, artwork, and equipment.
- Work with Product Development to transfer and implement new formulation processes and packaging requirements.
- Work with the manufacturing sites and packaging suppliers to identify packaging and process issues and implement corrective actions.
- Development of process descriptions and manufacturing protocols for the production and packaging of formulated products.
- Coordinate with other functional groups to align with production schedules and product requirements, specifically working with Global Supply Chain and Quality Assurance, to ensure short term and long term market requirements are met.

Education & Experience
- Bachelors Degree in engineering or scientific discipline.
- 3 to 5 years experience in implementing packaging designs and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with industrial packaging formats (e.g., bags, liners, bulk packaging, labels).
- Working knowledge of cGMP principles and practices.
- Familiarity with FDA CVM regulations and medicated feed labeling requirements a plus.
- Ability to develop test protocols to perform and document root cause analysis and packaging and production processes in a pharmaceutical industry.
- Clear technical communication and writing skills
- Experience with international markets a plus.
- Ability to travel as required to manufacturing and supplier facilities, both domestic and international.
