The IT Deskside Support Intern is an integral part of our Network and Computing Services team based out of our US - Teaneck, NJ site.

 

Hourly rate range for this position is $20.00

 

 

Position Summary

The IT Deskside Support Intern provides hands-on technical support to employees by assisting with routine IT incidents, computer builds, new hire onboarding, and equipment replacements. This role is ideal for a student pursuing a degree in Information Technology or a related field who is looking to gain real-world, enterprise IT support experience in a professional corporate environment.

Key Responsibilities

End User & Deskside Support

  • Provide in-person deskside support for routine IT issues including login issues, hardware troubleshooting, printer problems, and basic application support
  • Respond to service requests and incidents submitted through the IT Service Management (ITSM) system
  • Escalate unresolved issues to senior IT staff following documented procedures
  • Deliver clear, professional communication to non-technical users

Computer Builds & Deployments

  • Build, image, configure, and deploy laptops and desktops according to company standards
  • Perform new hire technology setup including workstation deployment, peripherals, and initial user orientation
  • Support equipment refreshes and replacement of end-of-life or faulty devices
  • Assist with asset tagging, inventory tracking, and documentation

Operational Support

  • Assist with maintaining IT equipment inventory and storage areas
  • Support conference room and basic AV setup as needed
  • Perform moves, adds, and changes related to end user hardware
  • Document work performed and update ticket status accurately in the ITSM tool

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Basic understanding of Windows operating systems and PC hardware
  • Strong customer service mindset with the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical users
  • Willingness to work onsite and provide hands-on technical support
  • Ability to follow procedures, document work, and ask questions when needed

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive)
  • Exposure to IT ticketing systems (ServiceNow or similar)
  • Basic knowledge of Active Directory or Azure AD
  • Prior internship, part-time, or school lab experience providing IT support

Learning Opportunities

  • Hands-on experience in enterprise IT operations and end user support
  • Exposure to IT service management processes and tools
  • Experience supporting new hire onboarding and device lifecycle management
  • Mentorship from experienced IT professionals in a corporate environment

Work Schedule

Part-time or full-time during the internship period (flexible based on academic schedule)
