The FP&A Manager is an integral part of our Accounting team based out of our US - Quincy, IL - Office (MNNS) or Teaneck, NJ site.

 

Compensation range for this position is $120,000.00 -$125,000.00

 

 

Position Purpose

  • Provide in-depth financial planning, reporting and business analysis for divisional management that leads to sound decision making processes, optimal use of resources, and timely evaluation of performance against business plans.

Key Responsibilities

Lead FP&A in collaboration and support of commercial, functional and operations owners  

 

  • Lead the monthly and quarterly management reporting process
    • Develop financial analysis for monthly reviews.
    • Ensure that information is accurate, complete, in compliance with management policy and reporting standards, and submitted on time.
    • Analyze operational results, anticipate business trends (internal and external) and forecast future sales, GM (product, territory, & customer based), spending (SG&A and manufacturing), production output and recommend approaches to ensure business success.
  • Lead the monthly forecasting process including profit & loss and cash flow
  • Planning - Manage the annual process, including the development of business imperatives and action plans. Assess and challenge strategies and tactics.
  • Work with managers to identify business needs:
    • Develop management tools to provide business insight.
    • Build financial rationales and scenarios to support budget development, investment decisions, long term strategic plans, and ad hoc business initiatives.
  • Monitor the process for the execution and completion of strategic and financial plans.  Surface issues and challenges as necessary should they arise.
  • Provide insight into business performance and lead scenario planning to optimize financial performance.
  • Provide input and support to financial and commercial initiatives.
  • Support process change and improvement.

Accountabilities

  • Accountable with the North American Leadership Team for the achievement of annual, quarterly, and monthly sales, gross margin, EBITDA and cash flow targets.
  • Proactive analysis of business operations.
  • Positive working relationships with company VPs and key directors.
  • Oversee the development of business plans on an annual and ad hoc basis.
  • Support W/C & FCF management.
  • Improve P&L & C/F forecasting.
  • Develop standard reporting package.

Technical Competencies

  • Thorough understanding of financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
  • IT
    • Strong Excel skills – Data analysis and model building
    • Word and PowerPoint skills – Including developing presentations
    • Working experience with BI solution and KPI (key performance indicators) approach – (Cognos an advantage).
    • Working experience in ERP systems. JDE experience an advantage.
    • Technology savvy.

Business Competencies

  • 5-7 years’ experience in FP&A in a business with over $100M in sales with a minimum of three years of field or manufacturing exposure.
  • A high-level command of budgeting process and methodologies
  • Strong command of business operations with the ability to understand key business drivers (products, customers, and processes) and how to influence them
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, drive and effectively challenge and enhance forecasts to ensure quality and consistency in both P/L & W/C

Education

Undergraduate degree preferred in one of the following:  accounting, economics, engineering or business.  MBA is an advantage.
