The Director, US Ruminant Technical Services is an integral part of our Sales team based out of our US - Quincy, IL - Remote site.

 

Position Details

The director of US ruminant technical service is accountable for leadership of the technical team, support of sales delivery, and vision execution in alignment with the overall US ruminant business strategy. In this role, the director of US ruminant technical service will be responsible for people/performance management and coaching of technical personnel, technical service and development of training necessary to drive the sales of the Phibro NSP and vaccine portfolio, support sales budget delivery and growth, lead the market support research efforts for the Phibro NSP portfolio, and implementation of strategic actions. In addition, the director of US ruminant technical service will be a member of the US ruminant leadership team, which is accountable for delivery of US ruminant team goals and strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Setting clear goals and expectations with each technical team member through regular check-ins and coaching, in alignment with Phibro’s leadership behaviors and value selling model.
  • Effectively manage risk, uncertainty, and conflicting priorities to develop objectives and help support the achievement of sales and expense targets in the US ruminant team.
  • Lead market support research planning and execution for Phibro ruminant NSP portfolio.
  • Support publication of research trial results in the scientific literature, conference proceedings, and industry magazines.
  • Develop and coordinate necessary technical training for Phibro ruminant NSP and vaccine products.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of marketing strategies for the ruminant business to contribute to the achievement of company goals.
  • Leadership of operational, strategic, and tactical components of the US ruminant business and vision.
  • Be present at trade shows and industry events to build Phibro brand and grow in professional knowledge, experience, and relationships.
  • Influences and shapes the development of the business plan for the overall US ruminant business.
  • Leads by example with introduction of new Phibro products and strategies.
  • Provide input across organizational and functional boundaries to influence internal change necessary to create tangible results for US ruminant business growth.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitive activity and provide guidance to ruminant business strategies.
  • Participate in identification of targeted new product needs and evaluation of suitability of new products for development.
  • Build strategic relationships with staff nutritionists at major feed manufacturers, independent nutritionists, and key university researchers.

Education & Experience

  • PhD or DVM/VMD in dairy science, animal science/animal nutrition, veterinary medicine with ruminant experience, or other agriculture related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years industry experience with demonstrated success in technical service, sales support, and research proficiency requiring a collaborative approach with preferred experience in ruminant, feed, or agriculture related industry.
  • Models the collaborative behavior required for a team-oriented and performance-driven environment.
  • Proven track record of managing complexity with comfort in supporting the achievement of annual sales targets, building and advancing strategic customer relationships, handling multiple priorities, leading projects, and working in a collaborative manner.
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to make professional presentations and proposals to both internal management and customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity and change.
  • Willing to travel up to 50% overnight.
