The Data Architect is an integral part of our Digital Information Delivery team based out of our US - Teaneck, NJ site.

 

Position Details

The Data Architect will serve as a hands-on leader focused on designing, developing, and supporting home-grown SQL Server based data warehouse ecosystem including leading modernizations of Phibro’s data warehouse ecosystem, and master data management (MDM), evaluating new data technologies, and leading the migration of on-premises infrastructure to the cloud.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Strategy and Architecture:

  •    Define and implement scalable data architectures aligned with business objectives.
  •    Modernize legacy data systems and develop solutions for financial data warehouses and MDM.

2. Data Warehouse and Integration:

  • Build, optimize, and manage data warehouses to support financial reporting and month-end processes.
  • Design ETL processes with SSIS for efficient data transformation and integration.
  • Ensure performance and reliability through advanced optimization.

3. Master Data Management (MDM):

  • Develop and implement MDM frameworks to maintain data consistency and governance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish data ownership and quality standards.

4. Azure and Cloud Solutions:

  •   Drive the migration of on-premises systems to Azure cloud environments.
  •   Leverage Azure technologies: Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, SQL Database, Data Lake, and Azure Purview.
  •   Design secure, scalable cloud-based data solutions.
  •   Optimize cloud environments for performance and cost efficiency.

5. Evaluation and Technology Assessment:

  •   Assess and recommend data warehouse and MDM technologies to meet evolving business needs.
  • Analyze the impact of emerging technologies on existing systems.

6. Collaboration and Leadership:

  •    Partner with IT, Finance, and Analytics teams to deliver tailored data solutions.
  •    Mentor team members and promote best practices in data architecture.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in data architecture, focusing on financial systems.
  • Expertise in Azure services, SQL Server, SSIS, and MDM frameworks.
  • Proven ability to modernize legacy data environments and manage complex data projects.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting and month-end processes.

 

Preferred Skills: 

  • Proficiency with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Knowledge of big data frameworks.
  • Azure Data Engineering certification or equivalent.
