The Account Manager is an integral part of our Sales team based out of our US - Teaneck, NJ - Remote site.

 

Position Details

An account manager will create demand and add value through consultative and technical selling with key influencers and decision-makers in the poultry industry.  Parties would include production managers, veterinarians, nutritionists, senior level leaders up to and including owners, and other individuals influencing the region.  In addition, the account manager will be involved with specific projects related to delivering current year budget and/or achieving desired longer-term culture and vision. Must reside centrally located within the territory which includes Alabama, Mississippi, the broiler producing regions of Kentucky and Tennessee as well as one key account in Arkansas

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the sales efforts within assigned territory
    • Prospect for and develop new customers
    • Support and retain current customers
    • Seek out opportunities to grow and expand current customer business with current product growth or by adding additional products.
  • Utilize Phibro resources and training to develop strong working knowledge of product portfolio
    • Know the scientific principles behind each product and their application
    • Position features and benefits to meet customer needs, increase sales and Phibro results.
  • Manage own time and utilize Phibro resources to develop and prioritize customer and prospect objectives to grow sales per assigned budget.
  • Must be able to understand the science behind each product within Phibro portfolio and be able to communicate the benefits of each to each customer segment.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate the benefits of each product within Phibro portfolio against competitive products and competitive company services
  • Achieve budgeted sales and gross margin for Phibro Products in assigned geography
  • Participate in development of sales strategy and plans for the region he/she supports.
  • Provide input to appropriate Species Business Manager(s), Product Director(s) and Area Sales Manager for:
    • Key competitor activities and sales positioning & pricing.
    • Needs for differentiated customer services to grow and maximize gross margin contribution.
    • Report on industry and customer trends within assigned area
  • Proactive use of Phibro’s CRM system.
    • Manage assigned customer and influencer database
    • Routinely update with new information and keep customer and competitor information current.
    • Proactively use to execute sales and marketing strategies and tactics to grow sales

Education & Experience

  • B.S. in Poultry Science (preferred), Animal Science/Animal Nutrition with poultry experience, or other agriculture related discipline.
  • 2-3 years’ experience preferred in sales position requiring portfolio and value selling, product support, and collaborative approach to the poultry industry &/or similar relevant poultry production experience.
  • Models the collaborative behavior required for a team-oriented and performance-driven environment.
  • Proven track record of managing a territory while achieving and exceeding annual sales targets, building, and advancing strategic customer relationships, handling multiple priorities, and working in a collaborative manner.
  • Sales proficiency at all levels of influence in the poultry animal health and nutrition industry.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in farm expertise focused on poultry health and nutrition and viewed as a trusted advisor within the industry.
  • Mastery of customer relation management (CRM) software.
  • willing to travel up to 50%.
