The Shipping Coordinator is an integral part of our Supply Chain team based out of our US - Sarasota, FL site.

 

Position Details

This role is responsible to prepare, track and communicate with customers and carriers regarding shipments.  Is also responsible for negotiating fees, preparing quotes, issuing instructions and ensuring compliance with freight documentation and regulations.  The Shipping Coordinator will work with Supply Chain, Customer Service, Warehouse Staff and customers to facilitate freight movement.  Ensure the supply chain functions of the business are processed in a timely and accurate manner and is an integral part of our Supply Chain team.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the fulfillment of direct ship customer orders directly from our supply base.
  • Negotiate and arrange transportation of inbound and outbound product while achieving cost and service targets.
  • Prepares sales reports for senior management.
  • Keeps meticulous records of shipment information.
  • Communicate with clients and shippers to resolve any complaints.
  • Prepare picklists.
  • Ship confirm outbound shipments.
  • Compile all accompanying paperwork and prepare shipping documentation.
  • Determine best way to ship.
  • Maintain daily pending/shipping report.
  • Follow through on pending orders for timely processing.
  • Detail, accuracy and follow through are crucial for this role.

Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 to 3 years of shipping experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience in preparation of shipping documents for Ground, LTL, FTL, Express, Volume and International (highly recommended)
  • Experience in web-based programs.
  • Must have experience in Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel, SharePoint, TEAMS and FedEx Ship Manager.
  • Experience in JD Edwards system a plus.
