The QC Lab Intern is an integral part of our Quality Control team based out of our US - Sarasota, FL site.

Key Responsibilities

The candidate will help organize and perform microbiological plate-based growth of a selection of industrially relevant bacillus organisms.  Strain, temperature, and time of growth will be varied to determine the effect on morphology and capture results for image processing software.  Depending on progress the effect of non-target organisms on plate counts may be included in the scope of this project.

The candidate will be trained on aseptic techniques, plate preparation, colony counting, software use and other QC techniques as appropriate.

Provide timely & accurate documentation of all analytical data.  Weekly check-ins with project committee will include status and troubleshooting with final presentation of findings to the project group and leadership/stakeholders including a multi-disciplinary group of scientists and leadership.

Education & Experience

  • High school degree or equivalent; must be enrolled in an accredited university/college program
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Should have previous lab experience in biology, chemistry, microbiology, or a related field.

Physical Requirements

Operations of laboratory equipment
Good hand/eye coordination
Required to stand frequently
