The Purchasing Associate is an integral part of our Supply Chain team based out of our US - Sarasota, FL site.

 

Position Details

This role will be responsible for purchase requests from various departments and obtain price quotes from suppliers. Additionally, their responsibilities include contacting suppliers to schedule deliveries or to discuss active shipment concerns such as shortages or missed deliveries. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the organization’s representative for the finance department on procurement issues and procedures.
  • Develop and coordinate new policies and procedures regarding procurement processes.
  • Conducts analysis of program policies and procedures, develops plans, formulates guidelines, implements new developments and procedures, and provides policy interpretation for finance to purchasing customers within corporate guidelines.
  • Prepare program guidelines, status reports and presentations for Finance and executive staff.
  • Process account applications and maintenance actions, and maintain accounts database.
  • Monitor approval of accounts to maintain an appropriate degree of control over vendor relationships.
  • Coordinate daily duties of procurement support staff.
  • Participate in developing requirements and be involved in the automation/test of procurement and logistics software
  • Assist in developing training material, preparing lesson plans, and overseeing procurement training.
  • Negotiates with vendors for good and services, negotiating the best possible price and service guarantee.
  • Develops new supply sources where vendors are inadequate.
  • Works closely with receiving department to ensure proper supplies arrived
  • Traces delinquent arrivals from purchase orders.
  • Follows environmental and safety regulations and acts in compliance with laws.
  • Complies with safety and corporate guidelines on business ethics.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a relevant field
