The Enviromental Health & Safety Coordinator is an integral part of our Environmental Health & Safety team based out of our US - Sarasota, FL site.

 

Compensation range for this position is $75,000.00 -$85,000.00

 

Position Details

The Enviromental, Health, and Safety Coordinator will develop and implement policies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment as well as advance environmentally sustainable activities.  Also ensuring compliance with corporate, local, state and federal requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
  • Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections.
  • Develops health and safety procedures for all areas of the facility.
  • Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
  • Ensures compliance with safety and environmental procedures for OSHA, EPA, FLDEP, NFPA, and local requirements.
  • Knowledgeable in OSHA’s Injury and Illness recordkeeping and reporting requirements that include OSHA 300A form, Incident Rate and DART Rate.
  • Knowledgeable in GHS Hazardous Communication Program for Safety Data Sheets and Labeling requirements.
  • Participates in the EH&S Council Team chaired by Corporate EH&S
  • Monthly safety inspections
  • Forklift certification/training
  • Responsible for emergency drills and requirements.
  • OSHA required trainings
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Enviromental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health or related field required.  In lieu of a degree, 10 or more years of relevant experience.
  • 10 years of experience managing an EHS program.
  • Supervisory experience, with the ability to coach, mentor and train.
  • Working knowledge of current applicable legislation, standards, best practices, and standard operating procedures
  • OSHA Outreach Trainer for 501 - General Industry desired
