The Quality Assurance Specialist is an integral part of our Quality team based out of our Quincy site.

 

Hourly rate range for this position is $45,000.00 - $60,000.00  

 

 

Position Summary

Entry level position to support the quality processes through the monitoring, evaluation and creation of product and ingredient certificates of analysis and certificates of conformance as part of the Phibro’s Dynamic Quality Assurance (DQA) program ensuring compliance with FDA regulations and third-party certification requirements.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides support for various elements of the Food Safety and Quality Management System (FSQMS) in compliance with FDA and third-party certification requirements.
  • Monitors the automated certificate system and completes additional product certificates as required.
  • Generates incident reports because of both customer and internally generated documentation related issues with the JDE based Incident Reporting System (IRS).
  • Assists the Quality Control Supervisor in reviewing issues concerning internal and external failures and implementing processes or system changes.
  • Effectively interacts with all departments as part of performing normal job duties.
  • Reviews supplier COAs for non-conformances and manages their storage for easy retrieval.
  • Assists in monitoring manufacturing and warehousing facilities for compliance with cGMPs.
  • Provides back-up support in the absence of the Quality Control Supervisor.

Education & Additional Requirements

  • High School Graduate or G.E.D. Equivalent; some college course work preferred
  • Intermediate typing skills
  • Working knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Word and Excel required
  • Experience with ERP systems and quality documentation preferred
