The Laboratory Technician is an integral part of our Laboratory Services team based out of our US - Quincy, IL - South Plant site.

 

Salary rate range for this position is $40,000 - $50,000

 

 

Primary Purpose

Under general supervision, performs chemical and physical analysis of inorganic minerals, blends of minerals, animal feed and any other sample types in support of Phibro Animal Health manufacturing facilities and Universal Testing. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain, follow, and monitor safety policies as recorded in the Chemical Hygiene Plan.
  • Perform laboratory tests according to appropriate procedures, work instructions, or internal manufacturing specifications.
  • Engage in light physical labor and work with hazardous chemicals which will require the use of necessary personal protective equipment
  • Utilize the laboratory data systems to maintain records necessary to support analytical results
  • Generate spreadsheets, worksheets, and other statistical data for analysis
  • Maintain samples, records, and files as outlined in procedures
  • Monitor laboratory supplies for replacement or replenishment
  • Monitor laboratory and test equipment for condition and calibration, and assists with repair or replacement
  • Participate in special projects as assigned by the Laboratory Supervisor or Laboratory Manager

Technical / Operational / Personal

  • Ability to effectively communicate (interpersonal, written) with internal and external personnel
  • Ability to work independently or as a team member
  • Ability to effectively use Microsoft Word and Excel, and a working knowledge of various computer software programs
  • Well organized and possess the ability to perform multiple tasks and prioritize workload

Education and Additional Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
  • Experience with ICP-OES, ICP-MS, FTIR, LC-MS, UV-VIS preferred.
