The Food Safety Compliance Manager is an integral part of our Quality team based out of our US - Quincy, IL - South Plant site.
$55,000.00 Compensation range for this position is -$105,680.00
Position Purpose
Manage and oversee the development, implementation, review, monitoring, verification, validation and auditing of Phibro’s Food Safety and Quality Management System (FSQMS). To evaluate and support the operations & quality management process through ongoing product and process improvement initiatives in support of both plant efficiency as well as conformance to applicable FDA regulations and elements of the FAMI-QS Standard and FSSC 22000 certification standards.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage and oversee all aspects of Phibro’s FDA compliance for our Mineral Nutrition and Nutritional Specialty production facilities.
· Manage and oversee Phibro’s Food Safety and Quality Management System (FSQMS) including activities related to FSMA compliance, 3rd-party quality certification standards, and document management system.
· Providing technical support for quality achievement and process performance improvement.
· Identify and lead the efforts in continuous improvement initiatives including the documentation and communication of associated work including project status updates.
· Working with the operations, quality and analytical laboratory staff to establish operational protocols including documentation and training requirements for optimal efficiencies as well as the production of quality products.
Additional Key Responsibilities
· Organize and manage the continuous improvement function in close cooperation with the Company’s Management team.
· Supporting customers and operations in the identification of root cause and corrective action determination to support the incident reporting system (IRS) with the goal of addressing complaints in a timely and cost-effective manner.
· Effective and professional communication and relations with all PAH personnel, customers, vendors, and regulators.
Technical/Operational/Personal Competencies
· Ability to assess project needs, efficiently gather required information, and effectively summarize it.
· Ability to coordinate multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and effectively accomplish goals.
· Ability to effectively communicate (interpersonal, written and presentation) with internal and external individuals.
· Ability to effectively use Word and Excel; experience with statistical software is a plus.
Education
· Bachelors in Chemistry, Biology or Food Safety or 3-5 years experience in Animal Food industry.
· Experience in animal food operations.
Additional Requirements
· Knowledge and experience executing requirements of FDA’s Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) for animal food facilities 21 CFR Part 507.
· Knowledge and experience executing requirements of the FDA Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) 21 CFR Part 1, Subpart L.
· FSMA Preventive Control Qualified Individual (PCQI) training or HAACP training preferred.
· 3+ years facilitating food safety and/or quality training is preferred.
· JDE experience preferred.
