Position Details

The Accounting Associate is an integral part of our Finance team based out of our office in Quincy, IL.  The position involves processing and managing accounts payable activity.  Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately process vendor invoices including Expenses, Material, Repair & Maintenance and Freight
• Answer all vendor questions
• Reconcile cash disbursement accounts to the general ledger
• Process all payments to vendors including Check, ACH and Wire. 
• File paid invoices and manage vendor files
• Track critical and non-critical vendors
• Perform month end reconciliation of assigned general ledger accounts
• Assist with monthly & quarterly general ledger reporting

• Review and process accurate records for Year End Reporting (1099’s)
• Comply with internal & external audits along with all SOX regulations

Key Competencies and Requirements

• Minimum education level is an Associate degree in a related field or equivalent.
• Minimum of 4 years experience in the various aspects of accounting or equivalent.
• Strong problem-solving, decision making and communication skills.
• Knowledge of computers with strong skills in JDE/Oracle, Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment as a team member.

• Independent judgment in handling exceptions and ability to prioritize to meet deadlines.
