The Shipping and Receiving Associate is an integral part of our Warehouse team based out of our US - Omaha, NE - Vaccines site.
Hourly rate range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00
Position Details
The Shipping and Receiving Associate is an integral part of our Facilities team based out of our Phibro Vaccine Omaha Office in Omaha, NE. The Shipping and Receiving Associate will support the shipping department in the shipment and receipt of products and supplies. Duties include labeling, stamping, shipping merchandise and material, receiving, unpacking, assembling, addressing, verifying, and recording merchandise and material into the JDE System and arranging for the transportation of products as well as assisting with various facility maintenance. Prepare shipping documentation, maintain records for all incoming and outgoing shipments.
Key Responsibilities
Print and prepare labels, postage, and other supporting documentation to prepare materials for shipping. Ensure label and tamper-proof bottles are secured for product shipments. Become trained and maintain authorization for the shipping of hazardous materials. Verify and utilize carriers that have the lowest shipping cost. Maintain computer programs for accurate shipping records on all carriers. Support shipping department in the shipment packaging, preparation, loading, and unloading of supplies and product. Deliver or route materials to proper departments using company truck, forklift, or carts. Check product against packing lists, match with correct purchase order numbers, and enter items into JDE System. Assist with product inventory in cooler by organizing and maintaining shelf-life rotation and available storage containers. Assist in determining shipping methods, documentation needs and costs for materials to be shipped. Assist in managing shipment schedules to support customer demands and product demands. Assist in contacting carrier representatives to make arrangements or to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials. Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy. Verify compliance with all USDA shipping and receiving regulations. Confer or correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications. Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes, (such as ship confirms in the JDE System). Examine documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials. Make sure cooler and shipping areas are clean and safe. Keep ice packs stocked for shipping. Assist in the facility maintenance including any emergencies (i.e. power outages, etc…) which may require coming in on weekends/nights. Other duties as assigned. Must have the ability and willingness to work in a cold storage room for extended periods.
Must maintain a valid driver's license and be forklift certified

Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or GED equivalency. 2 years of shipping and receiving experience.
Skills: Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology.
Interacting with Computers: Using computers and computer systems and programs, set up functions, enter data, or process information in Excel and Word.
Production and Processing: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
English Language: Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Customer and Personal Service: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work: Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.
Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment: Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment such as forklifts and trucks during work schedule.
Physical Demands: Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. Requires lifting to 70 pounds.
Work Environment: Office, warehouse, and cold storage room.
