The Research Scientist is an integral part of our Research and Development team based out of our US - Omaha, NE - Vaccines site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be the key stakeholder in the design and execution of the vaccine clinical studies (internal / external)
  • Manage the assigned R&D projects including agreed upon milestones, resources, and budget / expenses.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with the RA department, to achieve maximal efficiency in the development process.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with manufacturing to optimize the implementation of new technologies and new products within the manufacturing process.
  • Continuously review the literature for new developments and technologies.
  • Support manufacturing in process improvement and problem-solving activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

Key Competencies & Requirements: Experience in viral and bacterial cultures and in Molecular Biology. Strong project management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good understanding of GLP standards. Strong working knowledge of global licensing requirements including those for Autogenous vaccines. Resourceful; can develop approaches to overcome obstacles in order to meet or exceed requirements. Strong communicator, listens well, expresses oneself clearly, motivates others. Team player who contributes to the strategic and operational dialogue about priorities.

Education and/or Experience: Ph.D. in biological sciences is preferred but a candidate with a BSc. in biological sciences and relevant experience will be considered. Minimum of 3-years in biological research including a minimum of 1-year biotech/biopharma industry experience.
