The Quality Control Manager is an integral part of our Management team based out of our US - Omaha, NE - Vaccines site.
Position Details
The Quality Control Manager is an integral part of our Quality Control team based out of our Phibro Vaccine Omaha Office in Omaha, NE. The Quality Control Manager responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the activities of the Quality Control and Animal Testing Departments. Ensure compliance with 9CFR regulations. This position may require weekend and holiday scheduling.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the testing of raw materials, adjuvants, in-process samples, and final product. Manage the lab technicians: training, goal setting, disciplinary actions and performance reviews. Communicate out of compliance results in a timely fashion. Collaborate with other departments. Communicate quality control information to all relevant organizational departments. Instruct staff in quality control and analytical procedures. Submit daily reports to USDA-CVB for product release. Produce reports regarding nonconformance of products or processes, daily production quality, root cause analyses, or quality trends. Update SOP’s, Special Outlines and Outlines of Production when needed. Participate in the development of product specifications. Review statistical studies, technological advances, or regulatory standards and trends to stay abreast of issues in the field of quality control. Stay up to date with USDA-CVB guidelines, veterinary service memo’s and 9CFR policies.

Education & Experience
- Education and/or Experience: Requires a bachelor’s degree preferably in Biological Science field. USDA (9CFR) Regulation knowledge a plus.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to analyze and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. This includes making decisions from varying facts or circumstances. Must be able to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and choose the most appropriate action. Understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem solving.
- Decision Making Responsibilities: Advanced knowledge in essential duties, which includes the consistent exercise of discretion and judgment without supervision. Software: Ability to use Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Windows, Teams), J.D.Edwards.
- Skills: Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and correspond in the English language. Ability to apply mathematical formulas to complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Physical Demands: Lift 30 lbs. occasionally. Must be able to move from place to place in all areas of production. Must be able to stand and bend during entire shift. Requires good hand/eye coordination to perform various tests and good eyesight for calibrations and operation of lab equipment.
- Work Environment: Basic lab environment that requires the wearing of protective equipment.
