The Laboratory Technician is an integral part of our Research and Development team based out of our US - Mendon, IL site.

 

Hourly rate range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00  

 

 

Position Details

The Laboratory Technician is responsible for supporting laboratory work at the Phibro Innovation Center. This position plays a key role in ensuring smooth operation of the laboratory by conducting tests, maintaining equipment and adhering to safety protocols. The laboratory technician works closely with scientists, animal research coordinators, and farm technicians to achieve research objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct Experiments - Perform a variety of laboratory experiments, tests and analyses under the guidance of scientists and laboratory manager.
  • Sample Preparation - Prepare samples for testing and analysis, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established protocols.
  • Data Recording and Analysis - Record and document experimental data accurately, and assist in data analysis and interpretation.
  • Safety Compliance - Adhere strictly to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Inventory Management - Monitor and manage supplies and reagents, ensuring adequate stock levels for ongoing experiments.
  • Quality Control - Conduct quality control checks on equipment and materials to ensure accuracy and reliability of results. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (Animal Science, Biology, Chemistry, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience in molecular biology, serology, and cell culture techniques, including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, ELISA, and maintaining and manipulating various cell lines for research and diagnostic purposes.
  • Proficiency in data recording and basic laboratory software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic research environment.
