The Dairy Technical Services Manager is an integral part of our Sales team based out of our US - Quincy, IL - Remote site.

 

Function

  • Support the achievement of budgeted corporate and regional sales and gross margin goals.
  • Provide technical service, training and sales support to drive the sales growth of Phibro Animal Health (PAHC) dairy product portfolio.
  • Assist in the development, implementation and delivery of sales plans for the dairy business in order to contribute to the achievement of company goals.
  • Assist in the development, management and communication of market support research demonstrating the efficacy of products for the dairy business.
  • Participate in providing a working environment that fosters a winning attitude through integrity, mutual respect and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Work with sales team to develop and implement customer specific account plans and strategies that actively support the US dairy business and geography-specific sales goals and objectives.
  • Support achievement of budgeted sales for Phibro dairy product portfolio by creating product awareness and demand.
  • Develop and provide product, marketing and technical training for the sales team and our customers.
  • Provide technical support for customers, key influencers and end users, insuring proper use of products in the US dairy portfolio.
  • Participate in preparation of sales support materials for use by the sales team and customers.
  • Participate in design and implementation of research and demonstration trials to support and expand sales of existing products.
  • Actively propose and identify new product needs.

  • Following internal approval processes, actively publish research trial results in the scientific literature, conference proceedings, and industry magazines in order to protect and grow the scientific-foundation and validation of our team, our products, and our brand.
  • Build strategic relationships with staff nutritionists at major feed manufacturers, independent nutritionists, veterinarians, and key university researchers.
  • Communicate to the sales team and all cross-functional internal colleagues of evolving issues/trends and their potential impact within the dairy and relevant agriculture/protein industries by remaining current with industry reports and scientific literature, attending professional meetings, and through direct contact with experts.
  • Keep account managers, business director, and technical team informed of all activities with current and prospective customers, key influencers and end users through active communication and active CRM usage.
  • Work in an empowered team environment with the ability to identify areas for leadership.
  • Support prudent use of company resources.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in ruminant nutrition and/or ruminant physiology, Ph.D., preferable, and will consider DVM with appropriate background and depth of experience.
  • Minimum two years of industry experience in technical support role with primary expertise in dairy cattle nutrition and management. Previous product development experience encouraged.
  • A recognized, positive participant in a team-oriented and performance-driven work environment. Proactively communicates, gives and receives feedback well, accepts responsibility, and celebrates individual and collective achievements of the team.
  • Familiar with the basic principles of dairy economics and able to make the appropriate connections between product science and business.
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to make professional presentations and proposals to both internal and external audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strategic customer relationships and have the versatility to handle multiple priorities and work in a self-directed manner.
  • Proven track record of proactively accomplishing assigned goals and objectives.
  • Must be well organized and detail oriented.
  • Must be willing to travel approximately 50% overnight.
