The Purchasing Coordinator is an integral part of our Manufacturing team based out of our US - Chicago Heights, IL site.

 

Hourly rate range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00  

 

 

Summary

Performs all administrative, clerical and secretarial duties necessary for the Purchasing Department.

  • Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency with ERP and Accounting Systems.
  • Solid organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Education & Experience

High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required; college coursework preferred. Minimum of one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Responsible for accounts payable for the department, including the daily review of all invoices and accounts. Work with Purchasing and Accounting to promptly resolve issues as they arise.
  • Perform administrative functions for Purchasing, Maintenance, and Capital Projects.   Prepare correspondence, required reports, and compliance/regulatory filings. 
  • Maintains files and records as required.
  • Provides back-up support to Inventory Coordinator as needed.
  • Maintain the highest degree of confidentiality in dealing with plant information and  exercising tact and diplomacy.
  • Works with vendors as required and implements them into the necessary systems.
  • Management of POs.
  • Maintain various systems used for purchasing and maintenance.
  • PM set up and changes.
  • Accruals.
  • There may be additional duties and /or responsibilities garnered at the discretion of plant needs.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as Standard Operating Procedures, policy manuals, technical literature and reports, use of Excel spreadsheets and Word documents.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.

The employee will be required to utilize certain Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to, hard hats, safety (“steel-toed”) shoes, eye protection, gloves, and protective clothing.
