The Key Account Manager (KAM) Ruminants, Italy is an integral part of our Business Development team based out of our Italy site.
Position Details
The Key Account Manager will drive growth of Phibro’s ruminants products across Italy (and support activities in Greece & Cyprus). This includes supporting and expanding existing distributors while identifying and developing new distribution partners to strengthen market presence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Account management
• Provide technical support for customers, key influencers and end users insuring proper use of dairy products and feed ingredients.
• Provide marketing support, services and consulting with key influencers and decision-makers like dairy owners and managers, independent and/or feed company salespeople and/or nutritionists, veterinarians or other influencers
• Participate in preparation of sales support materials for use by the partners’ sales teams and customers.
• Analyze, challenge and report sales forecast provided by nutritional distributors
• Create, develop and present technical presentations for distributors and customers.
Business development
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new distribution partners for Phibro’s nutritional specialty product portfolio.
• Collaborate with marketing to plan and execute product branding initiatives, including digital campaigns, within the assigned geography.
• Support the achievement of budgeted sales and gross margins.
• Provide distributors with training, technical service, and sales support to drive demand creation.
• Represent Phibro at trade shows, conferences, and industry events to enhance brand visibility.
• Participate in regional marketing strategy development and business planning to accelerate growth.
• Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging issues; share insights with the European Ruminants Business Manager and broader EU nutritional team.
• Contribute to the annual budgeting process to secure resources needed to meet sales objectives.
• Maintain consistent communication with managers regarding customer activities, market developments, and progress.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, YEAR OF EXPERIENCE
• Ideally have a Degree in Veterinary medicine or must have Nutritional or other or other relevant animal science degree.
• Minimum of 5 years’ industry experience in business development with primary expertise in dairy cattle nutrition and management.
• Ideally have previous experience with technical/sales support.

• Strong B2B Commercial skills in the dairy cattle feed sector.
• Financials - understand the relationship between sales, marketing, operations, finance etc.
• Customer Orientation - knows customer’s business model and its competitive implications and how decisions are made and influenced through;

Technical
• Proficient in dairy cattle nutrition and management
• Understanding of nutrition and biological function in dairy cattle
• Competency required with Microsoft Office and CPM-dairy or other ration formulation programs.

• Passionate about animal health specifically the health of dairy cattle.
• Conversational level English language skills
• Must be willing to travel within assigned region for approximately 50% of time.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication (oral and written) skills.
• Well organised, able to influence, lead and drive commercial deals.
