The Microbials Innovation Director is an integral part of our Management team based out of our US - Teaneck, NJ - Remote site.
Position Details
Phibro Animal Health Corporation (PAHC), as a result of the recent acquisition of Osprey Biotechnics, is focused on expanding the Microbials Innovation space in the United States. Reporting to the Vice President of Microbials, The Director of Microbials Innovation will advance microbiome innovations and develop products at Phibro through the application of microbiome research knowledge and expertise to product research and development activities. The role will lead microbiome specific innovations in the areas of Plant Health and Nutrition, Animal Health and Nutrition, and through cross functional support of animal nutrition and microbial R&D and manufacturing efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a microbiome innovation program that adds unique aspects of microbiome value to new and existing Phibro product lines.
- Direct R&D colleagues in the application of microbiome science to all R&D and product development efforts.
- Provide support as a subject matter expert in the development of microbiome related R&D, sales, and marketing literature.
- Participate in identification of targeted new microbiome-based products based on market unmet needs and evaluation of technical feasibility.
- Inform R&D and innovation leadership of evolving issues/trends in the microbiome field by remaining current with the literature, attending professional meetings, and through direct contact with experts in the field.
- Ensure to incorporate latest advances and learnings in microbiome sciences into Phibro microbiome innovation efforts.
- Work in an empowered team environment with the ability to lead as well as follow.
- Support prudent use of company resources and perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
- PhD in Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, or related area pertinent to Microbiome research.
- 5+ years research experience in a microbiome related field with a proven record of proactively accomplishing assigned goals and objectives.
- Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in livestock (poultry, swine, dairy, beef) production systems.
- Knowledge of bioinformatics and biostatistics methodologies applied to microbiome data sets is a plus.
- Strong project management experience with demonstrated capabilities to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver project results with strong discipline.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and demonstrates the ability to make professional and compelling presentations to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Handle multiple priorities and work in a self-directed manner.
- Well organized, detail oriented and possess strong analytical skills.
- Competency required with all Microsoft Office applications.
