The Operations Technician is an integral part of our Manufacturing team based out of our Ireland - Sligo site.
Position Details
The Operations Technician is a member of the Operations team and will be responsible for execution of manufacturing activities at the Phibro Sligo Manufacturing Plant.
The Operations Technician reports to the Operations Team Lead.
This role requires you to work a 2-cycle shift Monday to Friday - one week of days (6:00 to 14:30) and one week of evenings (14:00 to 22:30) rotating.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in maintaining a safe, GMP compliant work environment at all times.
• Become competent and trained on all unit operations including tableting, blistering, labelling, packaging and antigen manufacture, plus any manufacturing processes or capabilities that may be introduced in the future.
• Operate manufacturing equipment including set-up, operation, cleaning and where applicable maintain equipment.
• Responsible for completion of tasks according to SOPs and batch records.
• Assist with the investigation of and operations deviations.
• Provide input into the creating and maintenance of area SOPs and batch records.
• Complete daily activities in an organized, efficient manner.
• Perform and document operations in accordance with cGMP’s.
• Maintain good housekeeping and clean and sanitize classified areas as required.
• Transfer of waste material out of the clean room areas.
• Perform environmental monitoring.
• Provide “On Call” support when scheduled.
• Other duties as assigned.
Job Specific Technical, Functional and Professional Competencies:
• Contamination control within cleanroom environments
• GMP manufacturing competencies
• Effective time management and multi-tasking skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written.
Essential Education and Experience:
• Hold a leaving certificate and have at least 3 years relevant experience in the biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical industry, with operational experience in a GMP environment.
• Experience in cleanroom environments
• Experience in aseptic processing would be advantageous.
• Excellent communications and organization skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficient in written and spoken English.
Desired Education and Experience:
• Desirably hold an Ordinary degree in a technical discipline (e.g., pharmaceutical sciences, biotechnology). A minimum 3 years relevant experience in the biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical industry.
