The QA / QC Manager is an integral part of our Quality team based out of our US - Sarasota, FL site.


Position Details

The QA/QC Manager is an integral part of our Osprey Biotechnics team based out of our Sarasota, FL. This position uses knowledge of regulatory requirements to manage, assess, document and make recommendations for the quality and correction of manufactured products. This position supervises the lab and lab technicians.  Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain internal quality system.
  • Performing internal audits.
  • Addressing nonconformities from previous internal and external audits.
  • Administrative, Following-up on and closing pending preventive operation of the corrective action system.
  • Analysis of customer and regulatory requirements to assess their effect on the internal quality system.
  • Support of customer and agency audits.
  • Quality assurance input within the approved supplier program.
  • Quality assurance record retention, ensuring that documentation and design controls are appropriate for organization.
  • Confirm that plant audit procedures are properly carried out and assigned work schedules are maintained.
  • Determine overall plant product quality by evaluating various product tests and tests related to ingredients and packaging.
  • Educate and instruct plant personnel in recommended quality control testing, equipment sanitation and general sanitation and housekeeping practices. Confirm these procedures are being maintained.
  • Consult with plant management and personnel on better operational procedures to improve overall efficiency and product yields.
  • Discuss plant evaluation with plant management, make appropriate recommendations and set timetable for improvement and corrections.
  • Manage the internal cGMP audit function to verify that the Site, Testing Labs, Suppliers, Warehouses, etc. meet current regulatory and PAH Corporate requirements.
  • Lead the process toward regulatory compliance to applicable local and international requirements.
  • Review Quality Agreements with third parties.
  • Conducting a management review of the quality system.
  • Supervise lab employees, giving timely feedback, coaching and mentoring to team members to drive continuous improvement of performance

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Food Safety, Engineering or related technical field
  • Understanding of cGMP, HACCP, FSMA, Food safety and Food Regulations
  • At least 3-5 years of quality experience
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience
  • Highly organized and strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and analysis skills
  • Team work orientation, collaboration
