The EH&S Manager is an integral part of our Environmental Health & Safety team based out of our US - Sarasota, FL site.

 

Position Details

This role is the primary point of contact for EH&S requirements, activities, questions and audits. This person will communicate EH&S requirements and results with the applicable members of the leadership team.  The EH&S will develop and implement policies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment as well as institute envrionmentally sustainable activities.  Ensures compliance with corporate, local and federal requirements.  This position will report directly to the Site Leader.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
  •  Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections.
  •  Develops health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.
  •  Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
  •  Ensures compliance with safety and environmental procedures for OSHA, EPA, FLDEP, NFPA, and local requirements.
  •  Knowledgeable in OSHA’s Injury and Illness recordkeeping and reporting requirements that include OSHA 300A form, Incident Rate and DART Rate.
  •  Knowledgeable in GHS Hazardous Communication Program for Safety Data Sheets and Labeling requirements.
  •  Participates in the EH&S Council Team chaired by Corporate EH&S
  •  Perform Fire extinguishers monthly inspections
  •  Be responsible for forklift certification/training
  •  Responsible for Hurricane, fire and tornado drills.
  •  CPR/First aid/bloodborne pathogens trainings
  •  Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field required; Maser's degree desirable.
  • Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in technology and equipment used in envrionmental inspections and safety procedures.
  • Self-driven to discover and implement new tools/technology to improve the overall EH&S program.
  • Five years of related experience preferred.
