The Research Technician is an integral part of our Research and Development team based out of our US - Corvallis, OR site.


Position Details

The position is based at Phibro’s Corvallis Research Center (CRC). The Research Technician is part a team composed by scientists and technicians. The CRC team leads a robust, strategic, and coordinated research process with focus on effectively utilizing our human and economic resources to drive and sustain growth of our nutritional products. The CRC supports the planning and execution of Business Development, Product Development, Collaborative Research and Market Support research projects. 

Position Responsibilities

  • Perform, develop, and establish basic and complex laboratory procedures, applying high research standards (safety, integrity, ethical) to assure accuracy of results.
  • Maintain accurate and timely record of laboratory results and experiments
  • Utilizes advanced knowledge of specific research protocols/procedures to analyze, interpret, and/or make deductions of laboratory results
  • Maintain laboratory operation and upkeep (e.g., inventory of supplies and consumables, general and routine lab spaces and equipment maintenance)
  • Develop, update, and/or contribute on the writing of protocols, SOPs and other documents in compliance with internal and external regulations
  • Collaborate on the execution of in vivo or in vitro research projects 
  • Enhances CRC organization and reputation by accepting to accomplish new projects and exploring opportunities to add value and prestige to the unit
  • Contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities

  • Education of a B.S. (i.e., molecular biology, biochemistry, animal science, or a related field)
  • Experience of 3 years in R&D with proven track record of research laboratory skillsets (independence, attention to details, analytical skills, time management)
  • Desired analytical skills: molecular biology and biochemistry assays including DNA and RNA extraction; qPCR, ELISAs, Western blotting, and other immunoassays.
  • Proactive and fast learner, constantly striving to expand laboratory analytical skillsets with top-notch technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by influence, problem solve and help lead change
  • Good working knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Office and Prizm GraphPad or comparable scientific data applications.
  • Passion for teamwork, high sense of urgency, absolute integrity, and robust initiative.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
